Annotating Feedback in Brightspace

Brightspace allows you to provide feedback on student’s Assignment submissions, but did you know that you can provide feedback within the student’s document using annotations? Most file uploads can be opened from within Brightspace and comments can be applied to the document so that context can be given along with the feedback.

The following file types are supported by Brightspace’s document viewer:

  • Text/Documents

    • DOC/DOCX (Word File)

    • RTF (WordPad, TextEdit on Mac)

    • ODT (OpenDocument)

    • TXT (Notepad, TextEdit)

    • PDF

  • Presentations

    • PPT/PPTX (PowerPoint File)

    • PPS/PPSX (PowerPoint SlideShow)

    • ODP (OpenDocument Presentation)

  • Spreadsheets

    • XLS/XLSX (Excel File)

  • Images

    • JPG/JPEG

    • PNG

    • TIF/TIFF
