Text Documents
Most assignments will ask you to write a response, document, or essay. These can be done in Microsoft Word (or WordPad on Windows and TextEdit on Mac devices).
Once you’ve completed the document, save it in an easy-to-remember location by going to File → Save As. You can save it as a Word Document (.docx
file) or a PDF Document (.pdf
file), unless your instructor requires one or the other. We recommend submitting a PDF Document whenever the option is available. PDF Documents cannot be easily edited or modified and have a greater range of compatibility.
In Microsoft Word, to save the document as a PDF, press
Ctrl+P
(or click on File → Print in the top ribbon). Select Microsoft Print to PDF then select Print.Save the file(s) to an easy-to-remember location.
