After selecting a course on the Home Page, you will be brought to the course’s home page:

On the course home page you can find announcements made by the instructor, a table of contents, and a calendar that the instructor may put important dates on.

While in a course, the Nav Bar changes and adds new options, outlined below.

In the Home drop-down, you can find Course Home and Announcements.

• Course Home: returns you to the course’s home page

• Announcements: brings you to a page showing all course announcements

Open

Select Content to view all of the learning modules in the course. Content includes reading assignments, supplemental documents, discussion boards, quizzes and more. You can also find a copy of the syllabus and other important course information here.

Under the Assignments drop-down you’ll find Assignments, Discussions, Quizzes, and the Plagiarism Checker.

Under the Communications drop-down you’ll find email, virtual classroom, chat, and the classlist.

• Email: You can compose and send emails in this tab, however KVCC does not recommend the use of Email within Brightspace, and instead recommends using Microsoft Outlook for all campus-related email.

• Virtual Classroom: If your instructor chooses to host a virtual class session you may find it here.

• Chat: If your instructor (or classmates) choose to have a real-time chat discussion it may be found here.

• Classlist: You can find a list of your classmates here

• Academic Support Request (Tutoring): Use this link to schedule an appointment to obtain tutoring services.

• Library Resources: Use this link to be brought to the Library’s LibGuides site where many support resources can be found.

• Calendar: Use this link to access Brightspace’s built in calendar to keep track of your due dates.

• Brightspace Help: This link will bring you to Brightspace’s official Community Forums where you may be able to find answers to questions about Brightspace.

• ePortfolio: Use this link to access Brightspace’s built-in ePortfolio tool.

• Course Evaluations: Towards the end of each semester you can use this link to fill out course evaluation surveys to provide feedback to your instructors.
